- No experience or specific skills necessary! If you can walk to music, you can dance - either square or round! Many of today's experienced people have never danced previously. It is a non-competitive social activity.
Why Square Dance?
- Modern square dancing is for the average person who is interested in fun, new friends and exercise. It is a smoke-free, non-alcoholic healthy hobby.
- Dancing exercises your body, brain and heart. Dancing also relieves stress.
- As dancers listen to a caller to find out what to do next and dance in harmony with seven others, our memory function remains strong.
- You will find yourself smiling often and are guaranteed an evening of fun and friendship. Laughter has been proven to be the most effective stress reliever.

Who participates in Square Dancing?
- You can literally square dance around the world. Modern square dancers are found throughout Canada, the U.S. and in more than 50 countries abroad. There are about 50 clubs in Eastern Ontario alone. It's a universal worldwide activity. Always called in English.
Is fancy dress or attire necessary for either?
- NO it is not. Clean, neat clothing and comfort comes first.
- As we dance on school gym floors, you must wear soft-soled shoes
Are Square and/or Round Dancing Expensive?
- Definitely not! Square and round dancing is very economical. Most dancers spend about $7.00 per person for an evening of instruction and relaxation.
